Looking to start your home bar for cocktails but not sure where to start? Jake Niman of Mixcraft has created a 12-bottle bar for you all within a $300 budget.
Updating his list from over a year ago, he released a new list for 2023 today. As with last year, these products are all certified kosher. Beyond that, his list includes high quality bottles that are widely available and have a wide range of uses.
Here is his 2023 list:
- Wild Turkey 101
- Tangueray Gin
- Tito’s Handmade Vodka
- Plantation 3 Stars artisanal rum
- Espolòn tequila blanco
- Cointreau
- Disaronno Originale
- Montelobos Espadín
- Dalton Extra Dry
- Mr. Black Coffee Liqueur
- Luxardo Bitter rosso
- Angostura aromatic bitters
While almost all of these are widely available, the one exception is the Dalton Extra Dry vermouth, which I had not known about before seeing this list. However, I see that KosherWine.com sells this product (although out of stock at the moment). As any kosher-minded consumers may be aware, kosher-certified vermouth is tough to get in the US (unless you want to buy Kedem’s vermouth products).
In addition to this list, you can check his original post for brief descriptions of each of these twelve products as to what Niman enjoys about them and their utility.
Out this year from the list are Citadelle gin, Redemption High Rye Bourbon, Del Maguey Vida mezcal, Kedem vermouth, and Misceo coffee liqueur.
