List of Kosher for Passover Agave Spirits 2026 (Tequilas, Mezcals, & Sotols)

Once again, Supervisores en Calidad Kosher has released an updated guide of kosher-for-Passover-certified tequilas, mezcals, and sotols. This guide, which comes as part of a letter, notes: “As in years prior, the Kashrus team of the Kehile Ashkenazi de México have done a comprehensive review of the tequila companies under KA certification to evaluate the suitability of some brands and varieties for Pesach 5786. We are therefore, once again confirming the following list of Spirits to be approved for use during Pesach.”

Factors for Tequilas and Sotols Being Dropped from the List
As to which factors might account for these aforementioned tequilas and sotols being dropped from the list from last year to this year, Rabbi Krems attributes them to any of the following:
• Minor Changes to production process
• Different facilities being used
• Change in yeast used
• “Some we found minor issues we may not have been aware of in the past (for example, one has a non-pesach antifoam used)”
• Some products were discontinued

Considerations That Went Into This List
In publishing this letter, authored by Rabbi Zalman Krems, notes that “The following beverages do not contain anything other than pure agave & water, and most of them use natural fermentation, otherwise they are fermented year round with KFP-certified yeast. And while part of the process does use equipment shared to non-KFP-approved items, this has been determined not to affect the status of the approved tequilas.

“It must be stressed that not all tequilas are produced in an environment & format that is suitable for Pesach consumption, and only those that are fully certified as KFP or appear on our approved list are recommended for consumption on Pesach”, continues Krems. He also noted that they are “pleased to announce that we have begun a process with all of our KFP-approved Tequila, Mezcal & Sotol clients, to establish a more rigorous passover protocol, in which none of the processes use equipment shared to non-KFP-approved items without kashering in between.”
